Montana Here I Come! Our annual Nine Quarter Circle Ranch event is coming the last week of August. Every year a new project usually planned around nature. This is the year of the Owl so we are doing a pieced owl set in a beautiful printed panel. The title "Being Human is Challenging, so be an Owl". Charlotte Warr Andersen is doing an amazing scenic rendition of the Taylor Fork River that runs close to the ranch. www.ninequartercircle.com
Designed by Barbara Webster the pattern is called: "Rising Moon Over Magic Mountains"
This has been the summer of the charity quilts. Here is the Red Wing Blackbird wall hanging made for a fund raiser for the Park at Flat Rock. Glad to know the proceeds will go to further the walking trails. Come walk our park if you have not tried it and search out the block on the Welcome Center now part of the Henderson County Quilt Block Trails.
Another charily quilt. This time made for the Parkway. Son, Paul Bonesteel, at www.bonesteelfilms.com is on the board so I answered the request for a denim quilt for the Denim Ball. I decided to duplicate, kind of, the quilt from Easy Does It Quilts, page 41, since it is one of the 12 quilts that were lost in their home fire. With the contributions from some of my Freedom Escape friends and long arm quilting by Debbie Beaver from Beginnings Quilt shop it was completed.
