Summertime 2013

Welcome, Summertime! Rain is somewhat like snow for a quilter. We get a lot done inside at our machine, while the grass and weeds keep growing. It just keeps raining here in western NC.

I am pleased to share some new quilts. The quilt below is called, "I'd Rather be Camping" and goes to our grandson, Jonah. The family lost 12 of my quilts in a fire a year ago, but all is well now that they are in their new home and more quilts are on the way. This quilt will be shown in Landrum, SC June 13-15 at their semi-annual quilt show. www.landrumquilters.com

Also, anyone in the Atlanta area the Ease Cobb Quilters will have their show at the Cobb Civic Center in Marietta from June 14-16. www.ecqg.com for more info. BTW their raffle quilt is outstanding!

This Diamond Dazzle quilt is still in my hoop so I am quilting away trying the Big Stitch for a change. Not easy to go big after trying to go small for many years with my stitches. A variation of this will be our class at the Nine Quarter Circle Ranch class this August. Hope you all got to visit Charlotte and I in Montana on The Quilt Show with Ricky and Alex.

Only 10 more crazy patch blocks to go for my JC Campbell class this October. It is called Spash with one bright accent in each block. Not easy to work around Rosie who always seems to get in the middle of a project. Quite an attention seeking kitty.

It is nice that you can make new quilts for your family.
That is a wonderful quilt for a young boy.
